The Golden Gopher was one of our first restorations in LA. We completely renovated the dive bar and transformed it into one of the most popular bars in downtown Los Angeles. The owner wanted to completely rejuvenate the space to create an atmosphere that would draw in the crowd. In a bold move, the designer and owner decided to completely remove an entire supporting wall which extended across the entire length of the building. Pieper construction brought in steel I-beams to support the three stories above the bar while the work was completed and the permanent supports were installed. We used the extra space to create an outdoor patio with great ambiance.
